Pila

Pila resort overlooks the city of Aosta and the two are linked by an 18-km-long scenic road that is always open and by a brand new eight-person gondola lift, a fast cable car that reaches the slopes in just 17 minutes. Pila resort offers 12 lift facilities with 70 km of runs (with artificial snow guaranteeing cover on 62% of the runs), running from the 1540m altitude of Plan Praz to the 2750 m of the Couis 1, offering visitors breathtaking 360° views that range from Mount Blanc to the Grand-Combin, from the Matterhorn to Mount Rosa. The cutting-edge lift facilities with a total hourly capacity of 19,700 people provide access to a very varied ski area, renowned for the superb condition of the runs, so there is something to keep everyone happy – from beginners to expert skiers and free-riders , for those who like their slopes perfectly groomed. The Areaeffe Snow-park at Grimod is served by a four-person chair-lift and offers plenty of fun for snowboarders and freestylers. The Snow-park is divided into two sectors: one easier and the other more challenging, where riders will find rails, box rails and fun boxes, linked up with various snow structures and kickers of up to 17 metres, and an authentic jibbing route over 500m long. There is also a great sound system with just the right kind of music and an area where beginners can give freestyle a try in complete safety. For children, Pila also boasts a lively and colourful ski school with play facilities and a magic carpet (for children aged 4 and up). At the resort younger visitors will also find a special mini-club, a bob and sledging area with magic carpet. Families are particularly well catered for, with a range of special deals available. The Pila Ski School is the largest in Italy, boasting 170 instructors specialised in all the various disciplines.
